How we check a used vehicle
Every used vehicle goes through the same thorough inspection process before it goes on the lot. No car skips a step:
- Recall check. Every vehicle is checked against open safety recall lists. You can check any vehicle yourself with NHTSA's free recall lookup.[1]
- History report. We review the Carfax report, including title brands such as flood, salvage or rebuilt.
- Thorough inspection. Our team inspects the vehicle before it's offered for sale.
- Pre-delivery inspection. Before you drive away, the vehicle is checked again as part of the Haley Advantage.
What a used car costs out the door in Virginia
A used vehicle carries the same state charges as a new one: the 4.15% motor vehicle sales and use tax on the sale price plus the processing fee, with a $75 minimum,[2] a $15 title fee[3] and registration, which is $30.75 or $35.75 a year for most passenger vehicles, depending on weight.[4] Our dealer processing fee is $799. If you live in Chesterfield County, you'll also get an annual personal property tax bill on the vehicle, due June 5.[5]

How can I check a used car for open recalls?
We check every used vehicle on our lot against open recall lists, and you can check any vehicle yourself: enter its 17-character VIN in NHTSA's free recall lookup.[1] Recall repairs on GM vehicles are done at no charge at any GM dealer, including ours. Do you only sell used Buick and GMC vehicles?
No. Our used inventory includes cars, trucks and SUVs from many makes, alongside used Buick and GMC models. Our service department repairs and maintains all makes and models, so you can keep bringing your vehicle here after you buy it.
Can I finance a used car with less-than-perfect credit?

Do used cars qualify for the car loan interest deduction?
