Great truck, BUT.....
By RSÂ |Â on Saturday, April 04, 2020
I LOVE my Tundra but, right at 5 years it developed an oil leak. After brief research this is a EXTREMELY common occurrence with ALL 5.7L Tundras. The cam tower plate at the cylinder head has a silicone only seal and leaks oil onto exhaust manifold. Toyota WON'T cover the repairs past 5yr. It's a $5000 repair. Google 5.7L Tundra cam tower leak. It's an epidemic. Its obviously a manufacturing defect. VERY disappointed in Toyota!… - 5.0
Trustworthy

I test drove Ford, GM, and the 2019 RAM. Bought the Tundra as it delivered the most for the least money. Safety is important. Had to pay a LOT more to get it in Ford and RAM. May be able to get some of it in 2019 GM, but not the 2018. Look at the resale and the safety ratings. The Tundra is great compared to the others. I've owned Ford and GM trucks, but could not trust them this year. I bought the best and am very happy with my 2018 Tundra SR5.… - 5.0
First Tundra for me.
By HGÂ |Â on Thursday, February 01, 2018
After driving high end F-150 and Ram trucks I decided to give the Tundra a try and bought a 2018 Tundra Limited CM 4x4 with most available options. Prior to the Tundra I had a F-150 Platinum which was nice but had many recalls, TSBs and warranty repairs. They were free but it is an inconvenience to not have your truck while it is being repaired. Now to the Tundra: I lost about 3 MPG under like driving conditions but I knew that going in. The engine has plenty of power and the transmission is super smooth. Although the Tundra doesnt have every latest feature Toyota started to catch up with the 2018 model and the important stuff like BSM, ACC, etc. is there. I find the fit and finish great and there are no rattles or squeaks. I now have about 4000 miles on my Tundra and all I do is put gas in and drive it. The standard LED headlights are better then the ones I had on my last F-150 which I consider a big safety plus. I have the TRD suspension but find the ride still to be comfortable. The seats, instrument cluster and the remainder of the interior are nice and comfortable, even on longer trips. A whole new experience for me that I dont have to take in my truck for unscheduled maintenance, I guess it is true about the legendary reliability. There is room for improvement though. Why doesnt a 50K truck come with a remote start (not even available at this time)? The JBL premium stereo is subpar and I spent about 1200.00 for an upgrade from OEM Audio+ and also installed an electric lock for the tail gate. I would definitely buy the Tundra again!…
